disneyland at christmas time
We had saved up a ton of our Disney credit card points and decided to take the kids to Disneyland in November when they started the Christmas decorations but before the crowds showed up. Between our Disney points and the military discount, we ended up getting into Disneyland for free, which was amazing. When we were there a worker said the attendance was the lowest it had been all year and we had picked a great week to come, so WOOT WOOT!
This was an especially fun age to take Zoey because she's tall enough to go on almost everything and was more than willing to try everything out! She especially loved Splash Mountain and Thunder Mountain. I took her on Space Mountain and was a little concerned about it, but she did great! She said it was a little bit too fast for her, but now she's telling me it was awesome, so who knows. We also took her on Star Tours first thing one of the mornings we were there, and after checking instagram later I saw the Mark Hamill had surprised guests on Star Tours first thing that morning, too! When I told my mom she almost cried. Major case of FOMO, haha.
Something the kids were looking forward to was meeting Spiderman. Spidey is basically Zoey's boyfriend and she had been talking about this moment for months prior. Well, once we got in line she started getting really panicky and didn't want to talk to him. Des met him and was in heaven and Zoey stood back and watched from afar. Ted explained to him that Zoey loves him and had a birthday party, and was him for Halloween and he said quietly, "I mean, I get it. He's pretty cool, I've never met him." Haha! He ended up talking to Zoey about 10 feet away. Later I asked her what she thought about seeing him and she talked about it like it was the most amazing thing ever, so I guess even being starstruck and not getting a picture with him ended up being fine with her. Kids, man.
Des loved eating churros and riding on Mater and It's a Small World. Zoey loved eating Mickey shaped cookies and going on everything. Perfect weather, low lines and so much Christmassy magic!
