joshua tree

For something like the last 5 years Ted has been saying we should "get away from it all and go to Joshua Tree". He knew nothing about it and just liked to say that as a joke because it was in the middle of nowhere. I'd always tell him that people truly loved Joshua Tree and we should really go there. Well, while planning our long drive to Monterey, we decided it would be the perfect time to get away from it all. 

Well, poor planning on my part, we truly got away from it all because a 5 hour drive to our destination for the night, turned into a 9 hour one, haha. We were able to drive through the beautiful national forest, but we pretty much had to say sayonara to everything else we had planned that day, and the kids weren't too happy about it. They kept saying, "Wow! Cactus! Just like we have in Tucson. Can I have a snack?" So, yeah, our kids are the biggest trolls. I wonder where they get it from.

But in all seriousness, Joshua Tree was truly a wonder and I'm so glad we could say we went there, so Ted can stop making that lame joke every time I ask him where we should go on vacation.
