Desmond is Sunbeam!
Let me tell you, it's super hard to send your child who only turned three a few weeks ago off to Primary. Especially when said child has been telling us, "NO I will NOT go to Primary!" for the last few weeks in preparation. We dropped him off at his class, and he literally threw himself on the floor and sobbed. I stood there not really knowing what to do, because in that moment I saw us never being able to drop him off and walking him in the the church hallways for the rest of our lives. Or at least until college. But one of the sweet leaders in the primary picked him up as he sobbed, and told us to just skip out and that he'd be okay. We stood peeking in the door for a few minutes as he cried, and then Ted told me I had to just walk away or I'd be fretting forever.
Which is true
I sat in Sunday School fretting for what felt like forever.
After Sunday School we peeked in again and this time he was sitting in a chair quietly, picking his nose. Because, it's Desmond and he's 3. But he was sitting there! Quietly!
When we picked him up later they said he cried for about 3 minutes, but once music time started he was all into it and sat in his chair quietly the entire time! I will call that a victory, especially for the youngest kid in the primary.
