Something I have had to get sort of competent at is doing flat lays to show my Bookshelf Tees customers how the shirts could look with different outfits. I loved this flat lay so much I ended up wearing it this weekend, so I guess the flat lay concept worked on me, haha! By the way, my mom bought me those glorious Vans for Christmas and on the box it claimed they were brown. I think about this every time I put them on because they are clearly more of a red, which makes me wonder if a color blind man named the color of these particular shoes.

I've been counting macros on and off for about a year. And while there are major upsides to counting, I have been more and more drawn to the idea of intuitive eating. The last couple weeks I have been trying to transition to a more IE way of eating because the thought of counting and weighing my food forever gives me hives. Yesterday I couldn't decide if I wanted sweet or savory toast so I went with both and it hit the spot and I felt nourished. That's what it's all about! (Top: peanut butter, raspberries, granola. Bottom: turkey, spinach, cheddar, egg.)

The kids used to be so sad when we packed up in the car and headed back to Tucson after visiting in Mesa. But one day my mom did a ballet dance in the light of our headlights as we backed out and the kids laughed and laughed. It's probably been like 2 years of her doing this and she never misses. Here she is doing her final bow after her performance on Saturday. She's a great mom and grandma.

If you were wondering, our trip to Mesa was indeed quite thrilling. You will be jealous to know that we did very big and important things like get our taxes done. And that was it. I like to think we just used getting our taxes done as an excuse to drive into town and get our favorite Mexican food Taquitos Jalisco (bean and cheese or #41 fish taco plate) and a drink from The Soda Shop (Smooth Operator and the oatmeal or black and white cookie).
